Triple Capital joined other partners to contribute towards Namibia’s pavilion at the COP27 climate change conference that is being held in Egypt in Sharm El Sheikh from 7 to 18 November 2022. The Namibian institutions mobilised N$1.2 million with Triple Capital making a contribution of N$20,000, in addition to its in-kind services to the pavilion. The funds will be used to set up for the pavilion infrastructure, catering for high-level events, and, technical arrangements to enable access for virtual participation and streaming.
COP27 kicked off on 7th November and is packed with a diversity of panel discussions and side events, alongside the climate change negotiations. The Namibian Pavilion will feature a series of side events to facilitate dialogue and showcase Namibia’s efforts in tackling climate change. During the first week of the conference from the 7-13 November, the Namibian Pavilion will look into Green Hydrogen; Climate Finance; Science and Youth; the Private Sector and Adaptation and Agriculture activities, while, the second Week which is from 14-18 November, will focus on Gender; Women and Energy; Biodiversity and finally other Climate-related Solutions scheduled for the 17th November. The two weeks’ programme and themes correspond with those of the COP27 presidency thematic areas for the conference.
